Prize Giving 2016

There were are number of messages delivered in today's Prize Giving. The fact that sometime things go wrong, or we can fail, but it is how we deal with these blips that matters and the way that we can support others to bounce back! The importance of teamwork and what it means to make things happen together and most signiificantly the children who spoke of their own memories and their inspiring and enthusiastic comments to their peers and the younger children in our school.

From Early Years…

As the saying goes… “Time flies when you are having fun!” And this is certainly true of this half term in the EYFS. The children have enjoyed a wide variety of role-play opportunities, being Firefighters, Police Officers, Doctors, Dentists and Veterinary Surgeons. Mrs McCarthy-Phull shared her extensive knowledge and skills, in her nursing capacity, showing us various pieces of equipment and also teaching us the importance of hand washing. Mrs Nicholson kindly visited the Nursery to talk about her work as a Dentist.

News from the Sports Department…

The summer term at Burton Hathow produced some much improved cricket and rounders perfromances. The U9 and U11 girls' rounders teams were both unbeaten producing wins against Orchard, Wellow and Hill House. The batting skills have significantly improved throughout the season resulting in positive scores. The U10 cricket team performed well at the Wellow tournament, finishing second behind Ranby House in an otherwise faultless season.

Leavers’ Dinner

We had a wonderful evening at our annual Leavers' Dinner this year. The children were treated to a three course meal, cooked by our very own 'Burton Hathow Restaurant!' The children enjoyed sharing memories and were so pleased when they received their leavers' books, jam-packed with photos of their Burton Hathow journey.

Super Stars!

Super Stars is one of the children's favourite days on the BH calendar. The children, from Reception to Year 6, all competed in a range of fun sporting activities, from the slowest bike ride to welly wanting. They had a great time competing to be super star of the day.
