Clean up Britain - Upcycle Outdoor Ed Day

All the Burton Hathow children enjoyed our 'Upcycle Day". With gardening, making planters out of old chairs, wheel barrow chairs, painting the shed and making new signs out of old pallets it was a very busy day with lots of tired children

Informal Concert

Our informal concert was a wonderful way to end a jam packed half-term. All the children from Reception to year 6 took part. There were some amazing vocal and instrumental soloists and some wonderful group compositions from our choirs, orchestra and jazz band.

From the Sports Department…

The netball season kicked off with a few weeks of hard work on speed, agility and quickness. The basic skills soon returned. Fixtures began with a good 10-0 win away at Wellow. The girls adapted well to higher posts with Cat Ford scoring plenty of goals. Well supported by Grace Ward who was awarded 'Girl of the Match.'

From Early Years…

The start of 2017 has definitely not been a slow one. Our topic on ‘Water’ has had the children enthused about creatures under the sea, transporting water, floating and sinking and exploring the insides of a real fish. The Reception children had a very important job to do during Pirate Day. Dressed as pirates, they had to follow the clues to find Teddy who had been abandoned by the nasty pirates. Luckily, Teddy was found and we all enjoyed a pirate feast of fish and crackers, with some bone broth to wash it down!!!

Year 1 and 2…

Year 1 and 2 have been having fun learning all about Chinese New Year. The children wrote their own poems about Chinese dragons and ended their term with a wonderful Chinese party, hosted by Derek who has been visiting Burton Hathow from China for the last five weeks.
