Year 6 Art Exhibition

Year 6 held a very successful art exhibition on the last day of term. They presented their work, which consisted of Batik. This is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth, or cloth made using this technique. Batik is made by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called a canting.

Easter Fun!

It's been an exciting day full of Easter themed activities. Here are some of the entries into our Easter competition! Our annual Easter egg hunt took place this morning with children from reception to year 6 working in pairs to hunt down some treats.

News from the Sports Department…

From the Boys: Both the U9 and U11 teams have had a successful term. The U9s and U11s won their opening game against Wellow House seeing our U9s win 7-0 and our U11s 4-3, with some fantastic football being played by both sides. Our next fixture saw our U11s play Orchard School where we won 4-1 with a stand out performance from Jacob Douch.

From Early Years…

“Brrrrrmmm, Brrrmmmm.” The EYFS have ‘revved’ up the excitement levels again by having our very own van in the garden!!! We have had so many adventures and explored the uses and functions of a vehicle. The children have engaged in a multitude of role play experiences including a bus station, a train station, a post office, an airport and engaged in lots of communication and language scenarios as well as mark making and numeracy. Mr and Mrs Arden brought in their John Deere tractor….it was huge!!!!!

Year 5 Digital Story Telling

Year five pupils have embarked on an exciting journey this term looking into the world of digital story telling. They have been taught the basics of digital storytelling through photography and audio and over the course of six weeks will display their chosen story through an exhibition. Students from the University of Lincoln come in each week and have taught the students the basics of photography. Using the story of The Magic Faraway Tree as a base, the students have created storyboards of their own worlds.
