Annual House Singing Competition

 |  Category:

This Thursday saw our third annual house singing competition. Each house performed one choir and one solo item. The competition kicked off with a spirited rendition from Elm House, who performed ‘A Whole New World’. Elm’s solo entry was a well-tuned performance of ‘Ride on a Rainbow’ from William (year 4). Our second entry of the afternoon was ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight?’ from Birch House –much improved on rehearsals! Issy’s solo rendition of ‘Castle on a Cloud’ was a lovely contribution to the afternoon, featuring particularly strong intonation. Ash House were somewhat outnumbered, due to pupil absence, however their performance of ‘Follow the Yellow Brick Road’ from The Wizard of Oz was brilliant. Remi performed ‘My Favourite Things’ from The Sound of Music, with a relaxed performance of endearing quality. The spirited applause from all competitors was a fitting testament to the quality. The afternoon’s final ensemble entry was ‘I just can’t wait to be King’ from Oak House who, impressively, had split their choir into two sections which made for a splendidly lively performance. Oak’s solo was ‘Let’s Go Fly a Kite’ from Alfie, who did the group proud with the diction and clarity of his performance.
