From the Sports Department…

Cricket season started this term for the boys and started with poor weather meaning many cancelled fixtures. Games vs Ranby , Wellow and Orchard all fell victim to the weather. Our first fixture came 3 weeks into term at Ranby. Playing hard ball as our first game was always going to be challenging. Batting first, we scored 66 with a high score of 18 by Archie.

From Early Years…

It is amazing what the sunshine can help us to achieve! Commencing our topic of ‘In the Garden’ has continued to bring our learning into the outdoors. The forest, meadow, lake, garden and playground play a key role in our learning. The EYFS children have been introduced to Yoga through stories during their core conditioning sessions. This helps them to strengthen their muscles and become more aware of their limitations in terms of moving their bodies, as well as learning how to relax.

Big News on the Sports Front -

The mixed hockey team scooped 7 wins out of 7 matches, winning the Lincoln School Sport Hockey Festival. They scored 49 goals across the matches and conceded just one! Heading off to the finals in Grantham on July 8th. Well done, BH!

Farming News…

Year 1 and 2 have worked tremendously hard on getting the Burton Hathow Farm up and running and we are delighted that several children from other year groups have got involved with the day to day care of the farm. We have had first hand experience of a working farm when we visited the Arden’s arable farm. As well as this, we have had the privilege of visits from Mr Crust and his livestock. The children have learnt about both livestock and arable farming and now understand where our food comes from.
