It was a wonderful end to a wonderful year as we all celebrated our sucess at this year's prize giving. The message was clear: believe in yourself, don't lose the inner child and focus on your own successes. Congratulations to George for being awarded the Head Teacher's award, you really deserved it.

From Year 1 and 2…

What a fantastic time we have had this term in Year 1 and 2, and we have been so lucky with the weather! In our ‘Farming’ topic we have been visited by Mr Crust’s piglets and lambs, learnt about dairy farming, visited Mr and Mrs Arden’s farm to learn about pea drilling and then BirdsEye harvesting and have also set up our own Burton Hathow farm.

Super Stars 2018

The children from reception to year six did themselves proud in an especially hard fought and close contest. They each took part in nine different events including welly wanging, slow bike race and medicine ball throwing. The school was divided between reception to year 3 and year 4 to year 6. After a full day’s programme, the points were totalled and the winners decided. There was a senior girl and boy and lower school girl and boy winner.

Forest School News…

The Summer Term has been full of exciting activity, with woodland habitats being made for frogs, roads and hedgehogs and hotels for our bugs! A new flower 'bed' complete with bird feeder chandelier has been created in the woods and butterfly feeders also designed and installed.

From the Sports Department…

Summer term is always the busiest term for the sports department. We began with some cricket fixtures against Orchard House. The game was more of a training session after a lot of cancellations in the first half term. The U9s visited Ranby and were dealt a tough lesson in cricket. Our boys did battle on after Ranby had posted a very impressive 336. BH ended on 221. The U9s learnt more on that day than any other fixture after watching a very impressive Ranby team.
