What a term! It has been jam-packed with fun, laughter and a huge amount of learning! Our ‘Be Happy’ slogan has been at the forefront of our minds, thinking of ways we can still celebrate as a school family whilst sticking to our ‘Bubbles!’ The Harvest Celebrations were a great example of how we have all thought outside the box. One of my mottos is: ‘If you have a solution, you don’t have a problem’; and we have certainly found a whole new world of solutions this year!
My virtual assemblies have meant that the children still get to celebrate each other’s achievement both in and out of school. It was wonderful to hear the sheer joy coming from the classrooms when they learnt of the year six’s success in their 11plus results. The children were genuinely thrilled for them as if they were their own older brothers and sisters. Of course, that is what we pride ourselves so much on, our BH family, where we learn together and also care for each other as a true family. Listening to the House Captain speeches and School Council speeches certainly made me very proud of all of our young students and their commitment to each other and their school. I would like to thank all of our staff for working incredibly hard this term in what has been very difficult circumstances and a whole lot of cleaning.
Whilst we made it to half-term without any cases you will be aware that we have had our first Covid-19 confirmed case. Although disappointing; I would have liked to have been the only school in the world without any cases, we have done incredibly well to make it to our half term break which will give us a natural circuit break without missing any in-school learning. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our school community for your continued support and join with you in sending best wishes and a speedy recovery to the individual concerned.
We look forward to seeing you all after a restful half-term and enjoy your chalk and walk. To enable the whole school to have the opportunity to take part, we have extended the deadline to the end of November, so families may choose any two week period in that time to record their miles.
Stay safe, love Mrs Ford and the BH team. x
