The girls and boys have played a handful of mixed football matches where they have worked well together and played some good football. The girls had a brilliant result against Handel House winning 13-2, Anna Bergens with a stand out performance scoring 8 goals. Highlight of the half term from the U9s was beating both St Hughs and Grantham Prep in a triangular. U11 boys have had a mixture of football and rugby fixtures this half term. The U11 rugby team travelled to Princethorpe College to compete in a 7s tournament, the boys worked extremely hard and won 2 out of 5 matches. A brilliant effort from all girls and boys in sporting teams this half term.
The second part of the netball season started with a narrow defeat away at Orchard. Many Year 3s making their debuts for the U11s. The following week we had a return fixture against Orchard. After working hard in lessons, we won 5-2 with Ruby scoring 4 and Issy scoring 1. The last fixture we had was a High 5s tournament with Orchard. This is a modified version of netball which is quicker and more engaging. The game encourages girls to play in different positions. BH won 1 game and lost 1 game.
Unfortunately the weather was against us for several fixtures.
The U11 mixed Rugby team attended the Lincoln School Sport Association Rugby festival at B.G University. A successful afternoon enjoyed by all. Winning all our games but also playing in a great spirit by helping other schools too.
The much awaited 3rd instalment of Staff vs Parents happened this term. The fixture returned to the netball court. A fiercely contested match played at a surprisingly high level. BH staff came out strong and took an early lead thanks to goals from Mr Millard and Miss Carter. The parents came back well in the second half with Mrs Collins scoring 12 out of 13 goals for the parents. Mr Keen is still having nightmares about his performance.
The parents scraped to victory with the better team being the staff of course!
The rivalry will be reignited on the Rounders pitch later this year.
