What a wonderful half term we have had. We have had superb 11 plus results. Well done, Year 6, especially Charlotte who achieved an amazing 96%! We have had a strong focus on raising the bar, not just with our work but with our manners and how we treat each other too. Having had the last two years with many a disruption, this term has felt like we can really get back to knowing our routines and reaching those very high BH expectations. The children have loved being able to be together as a family, for assemblies, breaks and team building lessons. Forest school lessons have seen the children return to working in teams across the years, Year 5 have enjoyed their first cookery lessons with Mr Keen and the catering team and Year 6 have been learning all about life saving skills in their swimming lessons at David Lloyld this term. Matches have also returned and the children have relished in their fixture experiences. Running club with parents also made a come-back and it was good to see parents across the whole school chatting and making new friends.
Covid certainly hasn’t gone away, and we take our risk assessments and procedures very seriously but it has been wonderful to have some sense of normality gradually return. We are also looking forward to our concert this afternoon, albeit with a much smaller audience, but it will be great to give our children that performing opportunity once again.
I would like to say a huge thank you to parents for being so supportive regarding the rules and regulations surrounding Covid-19 and helping us to keep safe in school. We know how frustrating it is for everyone, staff included, but together we can continue to keep BH as safe as possible.
