Our 2nd half of summer term was packed full of sport! Lots of cricket for the different age groups and sports day also thrown into the mix.
The term started with our U9 team playing against Lincoln Minster School. A closely fought game with LMS just coming out on top. Some excellent bowling from Matilda almost won the game.
Our U11 hosted Orchard School for their last ever fixture. We mixed up the teams and enjoyed the afternoon together. We wish all students and teachers from the school lots of success in the future.
U9 team visited St Hughs for a fiercely contested match next.
Our batting was much improved from the game against LMS scoring 80 runs in our 8 overs.
St Hughs managed to get to 74 runs in return meaning our U9 team took the victory.
We took 2 U11 teams to Ranby next. Our U11 team has had a successful cricket season this year but Ranby A team showed us another level. Our boys and girls fought hard but Ranby played some fantastic cricket to take the win.
Our U11 team took part in the Lincoln School Sports cricket competition.
We had 5 games across the day against local schools. Team BH won all 5 games with some excellent batting, bowling and fielding throughout the day. Unfortunately, the competition would not allow us to qualify for the Lincolnshire finals despite us being the winners on the day.
U11 then visited St Hugh’s for more mixed cricket. This was probably our best performance of the year. Our bowling and fielding were fantastic on the day; contributing towards a very good win.
Next up were Sports Days for our different ages. The Caterpillar’s ‘Let’s Get Moving’ was a huge success. Giving our parents an insight into what our youngest children do and also why they do this. Lots of parent participation and healthy competition!
Main school sports day was a huge success with our pupils showing great tenacity and determination across the different events we do.
Lots of fast sprint times and excellent jumping and throwing distances recorded. A really nice family day celebrating lots of different people’s successes.
Last sports day of this year was the Early Years Sports Day. A fun filled event showcasing the learning of our children. Lots of wonderful memories made for children, parents and staff.
Thank you from all the Sports Department to all other staff who helped with a super busy sports day week.
The last game of the term was our u11s playing Highfields. Our batting was the stand out skill in the game smashing a total of 144 runs in 10 overs!
An emotional game for Zack, Matthew, Kiruthik, Ellis, Freddie, Charlie as it was their last game for Burton Hathow.
Mr Bell and Mr Cox were very proud of the achievements throughout cricket season. Not only some good results but also some superb development across the ages.
Formidable, unstoppable and determined to thrive 18 November, 2024
