Years 1 & 2…

Year 1 and 2 have had a very busy yet exciting term. Our ‘Under the Sea’ topic has been a huge success. It has seen us visit The Deep in Hull, host Burton Hathow’s very first Regatta which was a fantastic day for all, we have delved into the life of Charles Darwin and created our very own books where we have recorded our observations of the pond-life that we found down at Hathow’s Lake.

Project China

The Burton Hathow team were, at rather short notice it has to be said, invited to visit China to discuss possibilities for cultural links and school development. It was a flying visit for Mrs Ford, Mrs Lyons and Mr Hardcastle with lots of activities packed into effectively only two full days in the country. No time for Mr Hardcastle to do any exploring unfortunately!

Year 4 visit the Zoo!

As part of our English study on arguments and debates, year 4 have been looking at the pros and cons of zoos. We visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park where we took part in an excellent workshop on conservation and the children discovered all the positive projects that the park have been involved in.

Lincoln Music & Drama Festival 2019

This year's festival was a huge success for Burton Hathow. With more than 85% of our children choosing to take par they were, in our eyes, all winners! Saying that, we did have more certificates and trophies than ever before.
