What a fantastic term we have had in Lower School! It started off with a visit from Squeaky the Mouse, who brought great excitement to the classroom and prompted some amazing curricular opportunities from letter writing and science experiments to room designing and programming. Squeaky quickly became part of our topic of the term- Changes. We delved into life in the 1940s all the way to present day, exploring comparisons in fashion, communication, transport, technology and daily life. Reception- Year 2 went on a trip to the Museum of Lincolnshire Life which really enhanced our learning; the children dressed up in clothes from long ago and had a real taste of life post-war. We celebrated the end of our topic work by creating and hosting an event- the Burton Hathow Museum of Artefacts. We had a fabulous afternoon showcasing our learning and hard work to our families and our friends at Tennyson Wharf Care Home. We dressed up in clothing from the eras we learned about, had tea and cake and we even had time for some Twistin’!
