From the Sports Department…

Cricket season started this term for the boys and started with poor weather meaning many fixtures were cancelled. Games vs Ranby , Wellow and Orchard all fell victim to the weather. Our first fixture came 3 weeks into term at Ranby. Playing hard ball as our first game was always going to be challenging. Batting first, we scored 66 with a high score of 18 by Archie. Ranby has a few accomplished batsman who got their team over the line with 5 overs to spare. Good bowling by Harry and Jack on the day. The Golden moment of the day was George taking a stunning catch on the boundary. Another cancellation followed vs Orchard meaning we only fulfilled one cricket fixture all term! The weather beat us unfortunately.

Exciting news from the Sports department is the investment of a 2G cricket wicket which we can roll out for games. We thank the Owls for their contribution to the wicket and look forward to getting plenty of use out of it.

After a spell of bad weather and cancelled fixtures, the girls' first competitive rounders fixture came in a tournament at Ranby. The girls made a slow start to the tournament but picked up and started to play well. The highlight of the day was beating Westbourne school. Our second fixture was against Orchard House which saw us win 11.5 - 7. A really big improvement from all girls involved in the tournament. Hopefully the girls will continue to improve and continue to enjoy their rounders.
