This term has been very fun, especially as we have been able to go outdoors in the sunshine and enjoy the beautiful surroundings at Burton Hathow. Nursery and Reception have been learning all about Springtime, including vocabulary for flowers and spring animals. We also went on a Springtime treasure hunt to see what we could find nearby. We have also learned some catchy tunes “somos como los flores” which you will have no doubt heard them signing at home!
Year 1 & 2 have been learning about holidays, travel and trips to the beach. They have done so well making sentences giving their opinions and reasons. I have been so impressed with their speaking and written work!
Year 3 have been ordering food which we put into practice during our recent visit to Olé Olé where the children were confident speaking to the manager and happy to try new dishes.
Year 4 have been learning about daily routine and have done work way beyond their years. really outstanding.
Year 5 Have been looking at the cultural topic of famous cities in Spain, why they are famous and being able to describe them in Spanish.
Year 6 have been working hard on their independent projects, producing some incredible work on uniform and their time at school.
It has been an amazing end to the school year, with video link lessons with Cordoba school and of course our fantastic trip to Murcia with KS2. It was an incredible opportunity for all involved and one which I will remember always. I have enjoyed working with all of the Students and staff at Burton Hathow and I will take away with me, some incredible experiences and memories with some very talented linguists of the future. Thank you.
A special thank you to Mrs Gallimore who leaves us for pastures new! We will miss you so much! And well one to year 3 for organising a surprise leaving party!
